"I wanted to take this occa sion to scan the landscape of American films devoted to this topic to select those (and there are few compared to others) that have a positive matrix.
In fact, the American Type , which comes from a country warmonger, approaching the thought alien to the thought of just war, or disaster. We have the bad aliens of Independence Day, Alien those of even the most ironic of Men in Black. But they always share the characteristic of wanting to destroy the world and the human race. I wanted instead to oppose them, the enigmatic and little creatures of positive close encounters, the amount of light Cocoon, the much-loved ET as we all know, and as close to us in appearance, Klaatu of The Day the Terrra. I also wanted to reflect the theme of "different" that embody these characters very well.
If we are unable to accept the difference in our world, how to behave with a different that is from another planet? " Irene Vezzi.

the Earth Stood Still (The Day the Earth Stood Still)
Derrikson Scott, 2008, USA, 103min.
In This contemporary remake of the sci-fi classic eponymous 1951, the renowned scientist Helen Benson, comes face to face with an alien named Klaatu, who has traveled the universe to warn mankind of the impending global crisis. When those responsible for Government of the United States considers hostile extraterrestrial and deny him the chance to talk to world leaders as he had requested, she and her stepson Jacob, which is on bad terms, quickly find the fatal phrase Klaatu, who considers a "friend of the Earth." Now she must find a way to convince this entity that was sent to destroy us, that humanity really worth saving. But it might be too late. The process began ...

"The Earth is dying because of man. If you die die also all human beings, if they die, only humans, Earth is saved!" These are the words of ' alien Klaatu, there is an ecological implications in this consideration, this seems to be so "different" calls only to respect the planet and nature ... To the question "What are you doing to our planet?" answered promptly: "The planet is not yours!" The special effects are outstanding: the ship of the 1951 Robert Wise film turns into a blue sky ball that emits a light beam, which comes out of the alien in his real guise, wrapped in a suit similar to epidermal silver lining garish. Interesting find of the 'evolution' of being from foreign body, that is unknown to man. As if it managed to meet the simple and stupid human fear of the unknown ...

Cocoon (ibid.)
Ron Howard , 1985, USA 117min.
Antareani hundred centuries ago came from outer space created nell'Atlantide their base. He died that territory, twenty of them, to ensure sacrificatisi boarding on a spaceship to the greatest number of their companions disappeared into the depths of the sea. Today, Walter, an old and solid Antar, is in our world, with two boys and a girl (All of its people but with human features) to recover those lost souls. Rent for a month and then a boat used for offshore fishing conducted by pilot Jack Bonner and, for the same period of time, a swimming pool located in a pavilion in the park of a wealthy retirement. Daily Walter and his are at sea until they pull up from the depths of the ocean a kind of huge boulders encrusted with coral and shells, to deposit them carefully into the pool. But in the nursing home there are three old, Art, Ben and Joe are in no way prepared to abandon the usual refreshing swim. You will find that the pool, and those cocoons hidden on the bottom, the three will have unexpected benefits ..

Great interpretation of the older actors in the film. Notable in particular proof of Don Ameche, who embodies the Latin lover (the role entrusted to him several times in the thirties and forties) in this case, courting and dancing like a boy. The film is not boring, it's enjoyable, accompanied by pleasant music and guess that surround the lives of our Arzilli old men. Particular is the scene of the "strip" dell'antareana, in front of voyeur Jack shows us in an exemplary way how it could be the reaction of an individual facing the "different".

L ET 'extraterrestrial (ET)
Steven Spielberg, 1982, USA 120min.
In a forest of California, a group of alien botanists take samples of vegetation. U.S. government agents appear and the aliens flee aboard their spaceship, leaving behind one of them and discarded. Meanwhile, in a house near San Francisco, a boy named Elliot, age 9, he is forced by his older brother and friends to do the "chores." As he fetches pizza, Elliot discovers the alien, who promptly flees. Despite his family's disbelief, the boy leaves the candy in the forest to lead the 'alien to him. A evening 's extraterrestrial visits to Elliot handing sweets and these enthusiastic hides the alien. And thus has subsequently will be called the creature, even her brother Michael and sister Gertie to be surprised by his different "capabilities." Between Elliot and ET, you will create a special bond, but soon the 'creature expresses the desire to return "home" ...

Regarding the creation of the hero, the alien ET, Spielberg and his collaborators decided that . The result is amazing! As a whole combines mechanisms to effect (such as when lifting his neck to look taller or in the scene where the heart and light up the index finger). Funny situation in which Elliot is totally drunk at school because of the link with ET which is instead home to downing several beers. Very sad scenes where the creature is dying near the river, or in the niche created by the government ... We will laugh and cry ... In my opinion it is a nice movie to review, who's never seen a time?! In this edition (2002) have been added funny scenes and special effects were improved.

<..E' il primo film fantascientifico non angoscioso... oggi, in questo clima guerrafondaio che sembra dominare, esso con il suo messaggio di pace, di fratellanza, di accettazione dei diversi รจ quanto mai attuale..> In the film, the aliens send a message that consists of a sequence of five notes
. Spielberg said the composer John Williams soundtrack of a detailed analysis of the way: the five notes were to be the sonic equivalent of the word HELLO (the notes are Bb-Eb-Lab-Do-Lab). I think Richard Dreyfuss who plays Roy, a leading figure in all history, is very persuasive in his desire to include all costs "what happened and why" the night of the first sighting. is willing to leave behind family, a wife and children that now they consider it crazy, and getting this new adventure that fully engages much to make him forget everything else. In the part of Claude Lacombe find the famous film director Francois Truffaut.
